(NaturalNews) The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) continues to release new data showing that various milk and water supply samples from across the US are testing increasingly high for radioactive elements such as Iodine-131, Cesium-134, and Cesium-137, all of which are being emitted from the ongoing Fukushima Daiichia nuclear fallout. As of April 10, 2011, 23 US water supplies have tested positive for radioactive Iodine-131 (http://opendata.socrata.com/w/4ig7-...), and worst of all, milk samples from at least three US locations have tested positive for Iodine-131 at levelsexceeding EPA maximum containment levels(MCL) (http://opendata.socrata.com/w/pkfj-...).

As far as the water supplies are concerned, it is important to note that the EPA isonlytesting for radioactive Iodine-131. There are no readings or data available for cesium, uranium, or plutonium -- all of which are being continuously emitted from Fukushima, as far as we know -- even though these elements are all much more deadly than Iodine-131. Even so, the following water supplies have thus far tested positive for Iodine-131, with the dates they were collected in parenthesis to the right:

Again, these figures donotinclude the other radioactive elements being spread by Fukushima, so there is no telling what theactualcumulative radiation levels really were in these samples. The figures were also takentwo weeks ago, and were only just recently reported. If current samples were taken at even more cities, and if the tests conducted included the many other radioactive elements besides Iodine-131, actual contamination levels would likely be frighteningly higher.

But in typical government fashion, the EPAstillinsists that everything is just fine, even though an increasing amount of US water supplies are turning up positive for even just the radioactive elements for which the agency is testing -- and these levels seem to be increasing as a direct result of the situation at the Fukushima plant, which continues to worsen with no end in sight (http://www.naturalnews.com/032035_F...).

Water may be the least of our problems, however. New EPA data just released on Sunday shows that at least three different milk samples -- all from different parts of the US -- have tested positive for radioactive Iodine-131 at levels thatexceed the EPA maximum thresholds for safety, which is currently set at 3.0 pico Curies per Liter (pCi/l).

In Phoenix, Ariz., a milk sample taken on March 28, 2011, tested at 3.2 pCi/l. In Little Rock, Ark., a milk sample taken on March 30, 2011, tested at 8.9 pCi/l, which is almostthree times the EPA limit. And in Hilo, Hawaii, a milk sample collected on April 4, 2011, tested at 18 pCi/l, a levelsix times the EPA maximum safety threshold. The same Hawaii sample also tested at19 pCi/l for Cesium-137, which has a half life of 30 years(http://www.naturalnews.com/031992_r...), and a shocking24 pCi/l for Cesium-134, which has a half life of just over two years (http://opendata.socrata.com/w/pkfj-...).

Why is this milk contamination significant? Milk, of course, typically represents the overall condition of the food chain because cows consume grass and are exposed to the same elements as food crops and water supplies. In other words, when cows' milk starts testing positive for high levels of radioactive elements, this is indicative ofradioactive contamination of the entire food supply.

And even with the milk samples, the EPA insanely says not to worry as its 3.0 pCi/l threshold is allegedly only for long-term exposure. But the sad fact of the matter is that the Fukushima situation isalready a long-term situation. Not only does it appear that the Fukushima reactor cores are continuing to melt, since conditions at the plant have not gotten any better since the earthquake and tsunami, but many of the radioactive elements that havealready been releasedin previous weeks have long half lives, and have spread halfway around the world.

The other problem with the EPA's empty reassurances that radiation levels are too low to have a negative impact on humans is the fact thatthe agency does not even have an accurate grasp on the actual aggregate exposure to radiation from all sources (water, food, air, rain, etc.). When you combine perpetual exposure from multiple sources with just the figures that have already been released, there is a very real threat of serious harm as a result of exposure.

The EPA and other government agencies are constantly comparing Fukushima radiation to background and airplane radiation in an attempt to minimize the severity of exposure, even though these aretwo completely different kinds of radiation exposure.

No safe level of radiation from nuclear fallout

Background and airplane radiation is an external emitter of radiation, while Fukushima-induced radiation in food and water is an internal emitter. The former, which is considered "normal" radiation, hits your body from the outside, while the lattergoes directly inside your body and into your digestive tract. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see the immense difference between the two, and the much more severe consequences associated with literally ingesting radiation verses having it hit your skin.

In reality,there really is no safe level of radiation. No matter how many times the EPA and others repeat the lie that radiation levels are too low to have any significant impact,the statement itself is patently false. Many experts, including Jeff Patterson, DO, former President of Physicians for Social Responsibility, have stated that radiation exposure at any level is unsafe, and they are correct.

"There is no safe level of radionuclide exposure, whether from food, water or other sources. Period," said Patterson. "Exposure to radionuclides, such as Iodine-131 and Cesium-137, increases the incidence of cancer. For this reason, every effort must be taken to minimize the radionuclide content in food and water."

And now that radioactive levels in some areas have actually exceeded EPA maximums, Patterson's statement is even more chilling. So while the mainstream media continues its near-total blackout on Fukushima, the situation is actually becoming more severe than it has ever been. Time will tell how severe the long-term effects of this disaster will be, but one thing is for sure --Fukushima radiation cannot and should not be taken lightly..

I ran accross a blog the other day called "Get rich Slowly" and they ran this article. I was wondering, are ya'll changing your driving Habits? I know I have! and I live in Mexico! The gas has always been more expensive here, but not anymore. I remember living in Cd. Juarez back in 99' talking to a Mexican friend there.

well, that is happening in reverse now. even still, gas is pretty dang expensive here. So when we move to our new City of Xalapa, Vera Cruz, one of the first things we did was buy a scooter. yes, a scooter. Now, for those of you who know me, know that I am not exactally a scooter guy. I am now! at 60 miles per gallon $2.00 to fill up every other week, I love the One Eyed Jack. Now, rain or shine, I am riding the one eyed jack everywhere that does not need a full family outing (we have three kids) Just the other day i took my wife out on a date with the "Jack". It was awesome. I am curious. Have the High gas prices driven YOU to change the way you travel about town? what do you do different now? Please write me and let me know! I am really interested! Wow. I am in Awe. I am sitting here writing to ya'll from Xal apa, Vera Cruz
fianally. its about 11:00 at night and 78 degrees outside. We have had a wonderful Sunday at our new Church (IBUC- Iglesia Biblica Unidos en Cristo/United in Christ Bible Church). they have welcomed us into the church like part of the family. Today after Church, Don Sergio Villa and his Wife Dona Eda, took us to eat trucha (trout) in his town called Coatepec.
The trout was awesome, the fellowship, the place, the macao ( a fruit drink), everything. afterwards, we went for an ice cream (which is famous in Xalapa), went shopping for some bread, and then we returned to the house. I had no Idea it was a camera day so i didn't take it. My mistake. but when we got home I took a coupe of picts. of the kids and how wiped out they were. A perfect end to a perfect day.

Well, here I sit in our big chair writing ya'll from our living room in Monterrey. We had already lined up moving company and had everything ready to go, sitting in the living room waiting on them. I decided to call them to see if they were lost or whatnot, and they told me "No, we wont be coming." WHaaaaaaat!? "yea, the truck broke down and we wont be able to move you." They never called us. they had NO INTENTION of calling us. So, we have contacted another mover who is a friend of our Pastor Carlos Astorga and we will be moving on this Friday. For those of you who pray, Please Pray, that all of our stuff would arrive in Great condition, that they WOULD COME, That there would be no Problems, That all of our stuff would fit in the truck, Safey for us on the trip, and that my head would not explode.

Yes, thats right, we are Moving. After 4 years in the field in Monterrey,Mexico, The LORD seems to have opened the door for us to continue ministry in Xalapa (HA-lapa), Vera Cruz! Xalapa is a wonderful blend of slow paced life packed in a 500,000 people city. We are in the midst of Packing the house. Life is a bit stressful at the moment. I will be flying to Xalapa soon to try and find the house to rent for the next 4 years.

Well the fam. was at a sit down dinner eating all the bbq Pork they would wrap their lips around (thus the reason for the unsual silence), when all of the sudden I see the lable for this certian brand of bbq sauce. so I pick it up and start readin. Well now, this WAS my favorite bbq sauce in the whole wide world but not anymore. can anyone tell me what in the world HALF of those ingreidents are?? LORD, no wonder we are dying off from cancer like never before!
Speaking of BBQ, I ran across this AWESOME web site the other day that tells you how to make your own brick Smoker. I pray that the LORD might bless us to own some land someday so that I might build one of those for the Betterment of mankind! Now, before you start belly achin about me talkin smack about Mexico, can I say I LOVE MEXICO! these are just 10 things that get under my skin. I could come up with an easy 10 things that wear me out about the USA. but I don't live there. this is done in the spirit of humor. NOW, please read on....

1.) Transit Cops.
2.) Topes, Speed bumps, Molar mashers
3.) The Utter lack of willingness to TRY and swipe my MASTER CARD that has an American Flag on it. "No, I'm sorry sir. it's not a Mexican Credit card." WHAT?!?!?!?
4.) Shopping at Soriana. Wears me out.
5.) Paying bills every month. You have to go to a varity of banks, convience stores(!!) and grocery stores to get all the bills paid. Lines forever, 105 degree heat, oh what fun.
6.) Chicken Fried Steak (Meat?) at Chilis. Wears me out.
7.) Taxis
8.) Semi-Double trailers
9.) Toll booths.
10.) Neighbors that party till 4:00 in the mornin...

Dearly Beloved!

How are ya ll?! Sorry, its been a while since you have heard from us. I have had some Computer problems. My real Lap top is sitting in Denton waiting for me to come pick it up. The screen burnt out on it and we had to have it replaced. A lot has been going on since we last talked.

My Wife had been called to Dallas to take her citizenship test. She passed the test with a 100%, but they didn t give her, her citizenship! They are still looking it over and they will get back to us . yup, root canals and dealing with the Government go hand in hand. Please pray that the LORDS WILL be done in this situation and that we would rest in HIS perfect work.

IBUC Jalapa, Vera Cruz: The whole BlackJack family took a trip down to Jalapa, Vera Cruz last month. We have a sister church there in Jalapa and we went down there to visit them, encourage them, and help out in whatever way they needed. I got to put my painting talents to work as I painted the church. We hosted several dinners there at the House that had been loaned to us, and really cultivated some deep relationships. The church has been around for about 7 years and they have about 40 steady members and three Elders/Pastors. Please Pray for the Elders as they deal with leading the Church of Christ.

My Wife is 71/2 months along and we will probably have her here in Mexico. Yes, I said her! Her name will be ???????? ! The Kids are thrilled to death to be having a little sister! They are getting ready for her by playing Mom & Dad almost every day complete with cooking, burping the baby, changing the diapers, nap time, and of course Play time! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new little girl! Placy s due date is Aug. 18-23. Please Pray that our baby would be born Healthy, Beautiful, Strong, and Perfect. Please pray for my Wife to have a smooth uncomplicated birth with as little pain as possible.

IBUC Monterrey: All is going well here in Monterrey. I am still meeting with my guys. I have lunch with Isaac tomorrow for the first time in a month! I have missed him! The Mission in Saucillo is still going well. We have not been able to go in the last two month due to weather, but the forecast is changing! It s been really neat watching he IBUC Monterrey discover their heart for missions. The missions is almost all Mexican led with some council by me every once and a while. One of our faithful guy s in the mission is a 4th year medical student that wants to be a Missionary in the Middle east. His name is Hector Rocha. We are meeting every week to do some praying a Small Bible study and some fellowship around the table. We have much to discuss as I have walked in the path that he want to go.

The BlackJacks in Denton: Yes, that s right! We will be coming back home for a few weeks in January. It s for a DBC missions event. I ll let you know more when I do. So, We will be having a get together at DBC in the near future. Just like last year, but this time NOT at CHRISTmas. Please, Please, Please, send us your family pictures so we can pray for ya ll.

Our Support: Please Pray for our Support. After three years in the field, it seems to be dropping down. Please pray that the LORD might send us new, dedicated, monthly, supporters. GOD Bless you all, we will see ya ll in January, I GOD so wills it.

Wow. whatta a time. the BlackJack Clan just returned from a month in Xalapa, Vera Cruz Mexico. It was Awesome! The Church was awesome, the people were awesome, the Clima was awesome, the house was awesome & the food was awesome. EVERYTHING was awesome. We went down to encourage and help out in any way, our sister church there in Vera Cruz. I will always cherish my time there with Pastor Sergio. A genuine, great, funny, godly man. Also my time with Pastor Julio, I will never forget. It was so good to see BlackJane & Erica (Julios Wife) hit it off and start a wonderful friendship. It was awesome to see the Little BlackJacks hit it off with their kids. Great times with Selva (yes thats her name! it means Jungle!), Rauol & Carmen, Sergio & Eda, Cesar & Vicky, Rene & Abril, Lupita, Liz, juan Carlo, Deborah... we have fallen in love with our church & the People of Xalapa. Special thanks to Cesar & Vicky, for spending 8 hours with us in the little town of Naolinco, shopping for that special purse(s) for my wifes birthday! We cried all the way home because we didn't get to eat any of Dona Vicky's shrimp soup (hot as Fire!), but we quenched our tears in the Ocean there at the Lazy little town of "Casitas". the surf was good, the sand clean, and the sun HOT! My Kids will never forget their first time at the beach.

Well It's about time! Yes, I have been away for a while. I will be in and out throughout the summer but that just how it goes in my line of work! I just returned AGAIN from Xalapa! Wes, Miguel, and myself went down for two days to meet with the Elders of IBUC Xalapa to Plan a Mission trip for this Summer. It turned out Awesome. We got the Business part knocked out and then we went on a Food bindge! Food is such a wonderful part of the Mexican Culture! we ate at the best dang steak place in Mexico. It's called Asadero Cien. the Trail Dust ain't got nothin on them! Actually, I would rate them EQUAL! Thats High talkin from me, as I haven't found a steak house ANYWHERE that can come even close to the Trail Dust (the one in Aubrey, Texas that is...my home town.). Los Antojos were Awesome! Great little place with a wonderful "ambiance" (thats a big word for me). I ate @ the Rotunda back in 04' & it was mighty fine eatin back then.

We took trip to the city of Xalapa to visit the Pastors of our sister church there. it was exceptionally beautiful, the people warm, the lifestyle a little slower & the coffee a little bit better. We are looking foward to going back this summer with a missions team!

Blueberry Biscuits @ 12:00a.m....

My wife makes the BEST blueberry MUFFINS in the world. I love them. I also Love Biscuits. and buttermilk. I have been wondering how a blueberry Buttermilk biscuit would taste, so I just made me up a batch tonight. I just took my standard buttermilk Biscuit recipe and added a cup of frozen blueberrys.

Ingredients

At a glance:

2 1/4 C. Bisquick Mix
2/3 C. Buttermilk
1 tsp. Sugar
1 Tbsp. Butter, melted

Methods/steps

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix first three ingredients together, add 1 Tbsp. of the melted butter into batter. Stir ingredients untill it looks prickley. Drop them into your drop Biscuit pan and cook away for bout' 10 minutes. To make like Popeye's Biscuits, or KFC Biscuits prepare the same way, but brush melted butter when they are placed in the oven, and when you take the biscuits out of the oven.

This is what they looked like.
I am a die hard Drop Biscuit fan. why anyone would roll out, and knead all that dough, I'll never know. you can do it twice as fast and it tase the same, "Droppin" (plus, bisquick is a great help!). the Cracker Barrel
has great cast iron cookwear. Thats were I bought my Drop Biscuit skillett at, and brother was it worth the money! Anyway, the verdicts still out on the Biscuits. I think they need a bit (alot) more sugar or somethin. If one of ya'll has a recipe or knows bout' blueberry biscuits, let me know.

Coffee @ the House...

Well, its no secret that we love Coffee at the house. My wife didnt like it very much at first but she came around after a while. Now that she's Pregnant with # 3, she cain't hardly stand it. Anyway, I thought I would show ya'll our coffee makers. Here they are, in all their glory (with one on the stove cookin).

"Coffee Glory"
When we first got here to Monterrey, we bought a brand new Coffee maker in Texas. 50 someodd dollar piece a crap that didn't work for only 'bout three months! (we have always had bad luck with coffee maker in the past). As I was cussin that dang Electric coffee maker, my eyes fell on a gool ol' friend that I had forgotten, that my wife had turned into a flower pot for the Kitchen. I call him: Ol' Faithful.

Thats right baby, he's a good ol' fashioned, beat up, chiped up, porcline blue, cowboy coffee makin sonofagun. He' been with me for at least, the past 10 yrs, and has brewed many a campfire cup-a-joe. Anyway, out came the flowers and in went the coffee and we have been drinkin it thattaway ever since. Now, Ol' Faithful dont make very much coffee, so we bought a twin called Ol' Blue (he's cookin Coffee on the stove, thus he's not in the picture). but still when you have Mission teams at your house every summer for breakfeast, even they can't keep up. So, this Christmas, my mom & dad decided to buy us OL' HOSS. Thats right.

"OL' HOSS"
OL' HOSS holds up to 38 cups of fire brewed joe in one cookin. yes, I said fire brewed. No more of that Electric made coffee (unless he's made from down below). anyone out there that likes it tongue blisterin hot? Boiling? Oh yea. He's from Cabelas and is just waitin to cook some up. I cain't hardly wait myself. Now, there is one more worth mentionin. We call him El Rayito.

"El Rayito"
Now, El Rayito, he's the Fastest Coffee maker in Mexico. He's the only electric coffee maker I like. The coffee he makes is dang HOT and dang FAST! Burnt my tongue many a times with his coffee. Anyway, he was a SWEET gift from my mother in law and he cooks! the only problem is he's an Ol' fart (60's I think), and his wires arent quiet what they used to be. They up and burned one day. so we are gonna fix him soon. So, if ya come and visit us someday, I guarentee that ya'll will see one of these sweet daddies in action.

Well, we have started a new tradition for this New Year. On our fridge, we have lots of pictures of our family & friends from all over the world. At every meal, one of the kids picks a picture and we pray for that family before the meal! So, we are praying for three different familys or friends three time a day. it gives great structure to our prayer life as a family and the kids are getting to know all of our friends they don't "Know". I praise the LORD GOD Almighty for my wife and her wonderful Ideas.

Let me preface this post with: I am writing this with no one in particular in mind. this is a GENERAL Observation. Period. the end. if your offended, click on the little red "x" in the top right hand corner. If you think I lack manners, please remember this is my Blog.

Right and Wrong. Thank you. I'm sorry. GOD bless you. can you PLEASE pass the salt? Excuse me. Flushing the toilet. Asking for things instead of taking things. Saying hello, how are you? and saying goodbye. Turning off cell phones in church. NO Profanity. Paying attention. sharing, with joy. Serving others. Those are just a few things that I could think of right off hand. If ya have any more let me know.

First of all, I want to say thank you, to ALL of you out there that don't do Jack, to teach your kids Manners. You are making our kids look like the best kids in the WORLD (and they are not)! People will think our kids are so well behaved and mannered (they are learning), and your kids... well, I'll not get nasty.

Dang, Where to start. lets start with Manners. Manners are a thing that is taught, not learned. It is like doctrine. you don't read the Bible or read a book on doctrine, and that's it. It needs to be taught to you, you have to learn it. It is repetition and practice that instills this discipline & knowledge. unfortunately for most people in the Americas (yes, Plural) it is something that they would rather not think about and rather not TEACH their kids. Do parents now-days think their kids will just "Pick Up" manners? from whom? the kids in the Playground? HA! I think we all know what goes on in the playground (I learned all my high school Spanish there) Kids don't teach manners, they exude bad behavior! Is bad behavior acceptable now? Since when do we not give a rip? Where else are they gonna learn? TV, movies, church?? some of the worst I'v known have been church kids (yes, even yours truly, before I was instructed) We now have Absolute Uncontrolled behavior. Think I'm a little extreme? go to the park and watch and listen. See how the kids treat their parents (FAULT of the parents ) and other kids. Go to the grocery store, a school, a church, wal-mart, McDonalds, Starbucks, Anyplace and pay attention and I promise, you will be appalled. what a cryin shame, that parents don't love their kids enough to teach them manners. Can you imagine in 50 yrs.? Our kid's will be anomalys growing up (GOD I Pray). well, at the end of the day, I recon all of the blame lies squarley on the shoulders of the parents. Please teach your kids manners and change the world a little bit at a time.

Home. It's a strange Concept. You are born in a place, grow up there, and it's "Home". then sometimes you move away and you are always talking about "Home" then when you go to visit, it just isn't "Home" anymore. Well, we went "Home" for Christmas (Chihuahua) & New years (Denton) and it just didn't feel like "Home"anymore. Don't get me wrong, not a bad felling of "Home", just different. I guess if you have always lived in one place all of your life you wont understand. But that's O.k. Two years ago we moved to Monterrey, Mexico and somewhere in that time Monterrey became "Home". We had a great time in Chihuahua & Denton but now, we are HOME!

C4 Youth Camp-out.

Well, We Just spent the whole weekend with about 40 teenagers! It was a mighty fine time. all of it except the part where I had to preach. I'm not much for preachin. My Passion is to Disciple guys, and Evanglize, not Preach. Wes is the Preacher on the team. Anyway, Garcia (the C4 leader) wanted the youth leaders take the reigns and host the entire camp except for the preaching, and they did a GREAT job! Bien hecho Chavos! We had a great time out at the Campfire Playin Praise songs and singin (always a highlight), in the Kitchen (always a highlight), at the Coffee Pot (always a highlight for ME!), and in the BED tryin to get some sleep over the snorin of our two, wore out, little Wild Ones. Yes, I got to bring the family along as well! I was as happy as they were! If you dont know, we are Missionaries in Monterrey, Mexico, A city of 'bout 7 million people. any chance that we have to LEAVE the city, we do, with joy in our hearts! We went to a place called "Sierra Linda" (Pretty Mountains. not to be confused with the hills of Bether!) up close to "Cola de Caballo" (the horse tail waterfall) and we did some worshipin! Our kid's loved it! 'cept for the busted lip, bruises, and such. My Beautiful wife was in her element. All she lacked was a couple of Tarahumara to talk with. She is my Beautiful Mountain Woman! Wow! It has been a while since I have had the time to sit down and Blog! I have been away on trips. We as a family have just returned from Denton, Texas. we had to go home to take care of some business. In the middle of our return home, My Granpaw, Frank T. Owens, had a fall, that put him in a coma and eventually death. Praise be unto GOD Almighty, that my Granpaw is heaven now. He is there of nothing that he had done. Only the Grace of GOD. Praise be unto GOD, because we were there on Denton at his time of departure. Praise be unto GOD, for his life and service to his Country. Good by Granpaw. you will be missed. Rest in Peace.

There is a new couple at Church. there are Josias, Vivian and Atuor. they are from Brazil and are here working for un Impressa Brazilano. I asked the last night how the church was treating them and they said quote: "We have never been treated better in any other church in any other country. they make us feel so loved!" Gracias Senor JesusCristo! Gracias IBUC! Work well done! we will get together next week for a Brazilian cook out which they will do here at the house. That will be a treat! Josias is a Programer for some company here in Mexico. Their Company has rented out a Hotel room for them for a year (No KITCHEN!), so, we are inviting them to the house every week to eat some good ol' home cooked Mexican Food! Maybe we can learn some Portuguese. Vivian will give birth here in Mexico in Late January. they still don't know what they are having, but we gave them the name of our Baby Doc. and they will go soon. They are gonna love Mexico!

This is my first Blog. I named it one letter after a good friend of mines ( He is the ebumpkin.com ). So I guess this is a tribute to him. Cheers "Slim"! he says he created blogging! I will in no way try and replicate his Legos Movies (China is the hardest workin team...HA!). I will try and be faithfull to Blog an a regular basis, what ever that looks like? Anyway, "Slim", Heres to you bro. Oh, By the way he aint dead.
